MagRes Magnetic Absolute Multi-turn Encoder Features Improved Resolution and Modular Bus Cover
Southington, Conn. - July 24, 2003.... Baumer Electric has redesigned its MagRes Magnetic Absolute Multi-turn Encoder to offer up to 30-bit resolution. And a new modular bus cover option allows the sensor to be easily integrated into a variety of popular bus systems using the same base encoder unit.
An innovative sensor for speed, direction, and position monitoring, the MagRes is available in a 12 Bit non-contact kit version that measures only 15.5 mm in depth, weighs just 50 grams, and offers IP68 sealing on its face. The encoder is also available in single turn models.
The new bus cover system increases the adaptability of the MagRes, reduces delivery times dramatically, and offers substantial cost savings over traditional, one-piece bus encoders. The MagRes supports most major bus system outputs, including CANopen, DeviceNet, and Profibus via the simply exchanged bus cover. Non-bus versions are available in parallel and SSI outputs.
Available in an industry standard 58 mm encoder style housing, low cost MagRes encoders are zero-point programmable and operate optimally in temperatures from -20 to 85°C. Baumer's standard multiturn MagRes weighs in at 400 grams and features IP 65 protection.
