Press Release Summary:
Sealless, self-priming Series PMSP comes in 3, 5, and 7½ hp. Available in polypropylene/PVDF and high-temperature PVDF materials, it is recommended for corrosive wastes at temperatures to 210°F and is completely corrosion resistant. Pump incorporates 99.5% alumina ceramic shaft and appropriate O-rings. There is no metal contact with liquid being pumped and no shaft seals that can leak. Pump can run dry after initial priming.
Original Press Release:
New High Volume Magnetic-Drive Seal-Less Pumps Available from Sethco
Sethco Division, Met-Pro Corporation, located in Hauppauge, New York has added to its "PMSP" magnetic-drive, self priming seal-less pump series. Sethco now offers 3HP, 5HP and 7-1/2HP models for flows to 225 GPM.
Completely corrosion resistant, the magnetic drive, self-priming pump is available in either polypropylene/PVDF or high temperature PVDF materials of construction and is recommended for corrosive wastes such as acids, alkalies, caustics, bleaches, sea water, solvents and many other harsh environments at temperatures to 210°F.
All pumps incorporate a special 99.5% Alumina ceramic shaft and appropriate o-rings. There is no metal contact with the liquid being pumped.
Since the pump is magnetically driven, no shaft seal is required. Power is transmitted by a magnetic field from the magnet attached to the motor through the solid body of the pump to the magnet attached to the impeller. No shaft seals means no seal leaks and no air leaks. Leakage and troublesome seal replacement are completely eliminated.
Priming the pump is said to be easy. The operator simply fills the priming chamber with the liquid to be pumped and turns the pump on. Other features include the ability to run dry after initial priming, easy to disassemble design and an internal basket strainer to prevent foreign objects from entering pump.
End suction models for flows to 255 GPM are also available.
