To The Rescue...New Holemaking Technology At IMTS '02
For every fabricator, plant maintenance personnel, and installer who has ever had to drill holes in tight spots, Hougen Manufacturing (Booth B6435) comes to the rescue at IMTS 2002. The company will introduce the HMD115 portable magnetic drill. The HMD115 is a new and improved model over its predecessor, featuring a more powerful motor, with a trimmer design and quieter operation. Complementing the higher power, more robust gearing has been incorporated, providing no-stall drilling for heavier loads experienced with larger diameters, and tough materials.
The HMD115 maintains, however, an ultra-low profile that, at just 6-11/16" tall and less than 22 pounds in weight, allows work in spaces with limited access, where even hand held drills would be awkward to use. This drill features a bayonet-style tool mounting arbor and uses Hougen's "17,000-Series" Rotabroach® Annular Cutters that provide fast, clean holemaking, and fast, no-tool changeouts. The drill has a 5/8" thru 1-1/16" diameter and 3/4" depth of cut hole capacity.
In addition to the HMD115 drill, Hougen's IMTS booth exhibit will include its full lineup of 10 other models of portable magnetic drills with capacities to 3-1/16" diameter and 3" depth of cut, additional examples of annular cutters for fast hole production including those for holemaking in sheet metal as well as large diameter cutters for use in stationary machine tools, plus a variety of holemaking accessories and convenient tool kits.
