Magellan Introduces Navionics Marine, Lake and Fishing Charts for eXplorist GPS Handhelds
SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Magellan GPS today announced a partnership with cartography company Navionics that adds compatibility of advanced lake and marine charts with new Magellan eXplorist handheld devices.
With the newly released software available immediately, Magellan eXplorist 510, 610, and 710 GPS devices are now compatible with digital versions of Navionics Gold marine charts, HotMaps Premium lake maps, and Fish'N Chip bathymetric fishing maps. Navionics is available at retail on MicroSD cards and via download for select areas in Europe, Middle East, South Africa and Australia. Customers can view the Magellan devices with Navionics maps at next month's ICAST (International Convention of Allied Sportsfishing Trades) 2011 trade show in Las Vegas.

Navionics Gold marine charts are the navigation standard for serious mariners and fishermen. Features include tides, currents, wrecks, port plans, marsh areas, marine services, coastal roads, and much more. Navionics offers two charts that cover North America - one for USA, and one for Canada. Additional charts for the rest of the world are also available.
Navionics HotMaps Premium lake maps cover more than 17,000 lakes in North America and provide complete fishing information for eXplorist GPS users, plus over 1,000 high-definition lake maps featuring 1' contours from Navionics' own on-the-water surveys. HotMaps are available in five regional versions covering the United States and Canada.
HotMaps Premium and Gold charts include one year of free unlimited updates with Navionics Freshest Data download program.
Navionics Fish'N Chip offers the ultimate in high-resolution fishing bathymetry, packed with fish-finding details such as wrecks, sea bed composition, tides, currents, local fishing areas, vegetation, offshore bathymetry and other navigation aids. Three regional versions covering the East Coast, Great Lakes and West Coast & Gulf of Mexico are available.
