Mori Seiki Announces NXH3000 DCG(TM) and NXV3000 DCG Compact Machining Centers

New high-speed machines provide excellent performance and flexibility for high-production parts

Chicago, Illinois, October 4, 2006 -Mori Seiki has released the new NXH3000 DCG(TM) horizontal machining center and NXV3000 DCG vertical machining center. With the new machines, manufacturers working with larger high production parts can now take advantage of the NX Series of compact machining centers. With footprints of under 30 sq. ft. and a height of just 9.8 ft., machines in the NX Series provides a flexible and efficient means to establish a high quality production line.

Both of the new machines feature axis travels of 11.8" x 13.8" x 13.8" (X x Y x Z) with a 12.6" x 12.6" table that supports workpieces up to 440 lbs. Like all previous NX Series models, the machines feature a uniform table height of 39.4", allowing all machines in the series to be combined in the same production line. Optional integration of a gantry loader, robot or pallet carriage system allows for automated movement of workpieces among the machines.

Mori Seiki has implemented DCG (Driven at the Center of Gravity) technology into every machine within the NX Series. This, along with a box-in-box construction, allows for rapid acceleration/deceleration rates with minimal vibration. Rapid traverse rate is 1,969 ipm along all three axes for each machine.

To make the NXH3000 DCG and NXV3000 DCG as productive as possible, both machines contain an 8-capacity (16-capacity optional) tool changer. The machines accept HSK-A50 tooling.

Mori Seiki produces extremely reliable machine tools and distributes worldwide. The U.S. headquarters is in Chicago with offices in Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, and New Jersey.
