Non-Stop Machining with Brother's New TC-R2A
Schaumburg, IL (May 31, 2002) - New from Brother's Performance Series, the 30 taper TC-R2A performs non-stop drilling, tapping, and milling operations.
To achieve uninterrupted machining, the TC-R2A features a "quick table" and a traveling column. Working as a pallet changer, the "quick table" allows for simultaneous workpiece loading/set up and operation. The TC-R2A's two-face quick table easily accommodates a housing for a notebook-sized personal computer, and turns 180 degrees in 2.8 seconds. The table size is 19.7" x 11.8". The traveling column of the TC-R2A increases work-to-work speed. It takes the load/unload out of the equation by synchronizing tool changes, positioning and pallet changes.
Unlike conventional 40 taper machines, Brother's new 30 taper machines are engineered to rapidly and accurately drill, tap and mill workpieces economically and accurately. For greater efficiency, the TC-R2A's spindle speeds reach up to 16,000 rpm, while X/Y-axis and Z-axis rapid traverse speeds dramatically reduce cycle times.
The controller is designed by Brother to maximize productivity specifically on their machines. It is easy to use with G-code and Brother also includes their own G-code, such as non-stop tool change code. The Brother controller also features an original conversational system that reduces the time from programming to machining.
Brother's own drum-style tool changer (14-tool capacity) increases speed with fast chip to chip tool change times. This Brother patented tool changer design is well known for its reliability.
