Introducing the 'New' Bridge-Type 5 Axis Die & Mold Machining Center MP-5F Series
Chicago, IL/Markham, ON - Heads or spindles on the Toshiba Machine MP-5F Series can be easily and precisely adapted to the demands of the individual work-piece being machined. This is done with the "automatic attachment changing" option that allows the head or spindle to be interchanged.
Universal work-piece machining is facilitated by the combination of a swiveling head and a motor spindle with switchable planetary gearing. The swiveling action makes two axes possible using A&C or B&C axis milling heads. The axes can alternatively be used as NC-axes making rough milling and high speed cutting possible in just one setting.
The axis milling heads provide high speed and high power, a changeable spindle unit and direct driven rotational axis allowing very fast rotary motion, high torque, no reversal clearance, high accuracy and high clamping forces.
Cutting capability of the A&C axis milling head is: Material - Steel 60-70kg/mm², Machining Volume - 1,200cc/min, Tool - ø100mm/6 edges, Rotational Speed - 750min-1, Cutting Speed - 235m/min, Cutting WxD - 90x5, and Feed-rate - 1,800mm/min. For the B&C axis milling head the cutting capacity is: Material - Steel 60-70kg/mm², Machining Volume - 600cc/min, Tool - ø80mm, Rotational Volume - 1,000min-1, Cutting Speed - 250m/min, Cutting WxD - 65x7, and a Feed-rate of 1,500mm/min.
To ensure accuracy with the interchangeable heads and spindles, the Toshiba Machine MP-5F Series is equipped with three external monitoring devices - the clamping control unit for the head, spindle and tool; a coupling control for the head and spindle and an optional system that monitors vibrations for proper conditions of the tool.
