UV Option Extends Cameras' Capabilities
JAI PULNiX's UV option (OP21-UV), available on selected PULNiX machine vision cameras, is the option of replacing a camera's standard imager with an ultraviolet-sensitive imager. These cameras use high-resolution monochrome progressive scan CCDs, which permit full vertical and horizontal resolution of very high-speed shutter images and eliminate UV-blocking materials such as a cover glass or micro lens.
OP21-UV is available on many JAI PULNiX products. Frame rates for these cameras range from 8 fps to 200 fps, depending on the camera being used. Resolutions range from 648 x 484 to 2048 x 2048. A square imager format with uniform square pixels provides superior image definition in any orientation (except the TM-9701). Applications for cameras equipped with the UV-sensitive imager include laser inspection and analysis, UV microscopy, surface inspection, flame analysis, and fluoroscopy.
The UV option is available on selected PULNiX cameras now. UV imagers have neither glass nor microlenses, and require special care to avoid degraded performance or damage to the imager.
