Knurled nut closes collet via internal taper, which engages matched taper on body of tool. Products are available in steel or aluminum and have machinable range of .125-1.00 in. dia x .50 in. deep.

Machinable Collet
Accudyne Corporation introduces its new machinable collets. These tools can be used with or without a lathe collet closing system and are said to be ideal for turning delicate parts even on larger machines. A knurled nut closes the collet by way of an internal taper which engages a matched taper on the body of the tool. The collet stem has a .625" diameter with a machined ½" hex on the end of the stem to allow for work set up off the machine in productions situations. Collets are available in steel or aluminum and have a machinable range of .125" diameter to 1.000" diameter by .500" deep.
