Original Press Release:
Gain Mastery Over Poorly Illuminated Tunnels With The New Tunnelmaster(TM) Lighting From Metrolux
New Product: TunnelMaster(TM) TU-18 Series - High-performance 24/7 luminaires for non-glare tunnel and underpass lighting applications.
Design: Metrolux Lighting In-House Product Design & Engineering Team
Manufacturer: Metrolux Lighting-a JJI Lighting Group Company
Product Applications: TunnelMaster luminaires deliver reliable high-performance lighting year 'round, while ensuring glare-free safety throughout all defined zones (thresholds, transition lanes and interiors) in tunnels and underpasses. They function equally well in short or long tunnels, highway underpasses, bridges and parking garages in rural, suburban and metropolitan areas.
Product Description: TunnelMaster TU-18 Series combines state-of-the-art design, photometrics and technology in a series of glare-free luminaires specifically designed for threshold, transition and interior zones of tunnels, underpasses and similar installations.
Units employ a curved low-profile sturdy metal housing with direct or indirect mounting options for ceilings, walls and beams. A complex computer-designed, segmented reflector allows precise light placement on multiple surfaces, optimizing uniformity and all but banishing glare. All models can be specified in ceiling, wall and beam-mounts, to accommodate spatial restrictions and optimum placement of units and their illumination. An optional quick-disconnect mounting bracket facilitates fast, easy removal or replacement of fixtures in high-volume areas where on-site maintenance is impractical.
A long-life silicone gasket is bonded to the inside of the lens door and compressed by four heavy-duty latches, ensuring a tight, uniform seal. Illumination is provided by a choice of metal halide or high-pressure sodium lamps. CWA ballasts with
a protective starter provide reliable, flicker-free operation and ensure long ballast and component life.
Construction & Finishes: TunnelMaster housings are constructed from heavy-duty die-cast 3l9-aluminum alloy, with heavy-duty anodized aluminum hinges and four extruded anodized aluminum latches. The flat, optically neutral clear tempered glass lens is heat- and impact-resistant. TunnelMaster luminaires have a corrosion-resistant light gray powder coated finish that meets or exceeds ASTM requiremnents for 1,000-hour salt-spray exposure. A salt-resistant coating may also be specified. Fixtures are UL and CUL listed, and IP-66 rated. TunnelMaster luminaires (excluding electrical components) carry a two-year warranty.
