SMD Announces Ultra-Low Profile Single Point Load Cell Designated Ultramini(TM)

The Model S215 Ultramini(TM) load cell is a low profile, single point sensor intended for limited space applications requiring accurate measurement of full scale forces of 2, 4, and 12 pounds-force. It can be used with a rigidly mounted platform or to measure tensile or compressive forces. A 10,000 ohm bridge provides low power consumption for extended battery life in portable products. Threaded holes allow bottom mounting, lowering
the height of the scale assembly to the current total height of 0.22".

Useful for scales, weighing bottles or bags in medical instrumentation, laboratory use, force measurement, robotics, or general industrial weighing applications, the Ultramini(TM) appears to be the smallest platform mountable load cell available anywhere in the world. Options on various specifications and mounting configurations are available. Specifications include 0.01% nonrepeatability and 200% overload. A data sheet with complete specifications is available on our website www.smdsensors.com.

Established in 1979, SMD is devoted exclusively to the design and manufacture of custom and standard thin film strain gauge sensors for the medical, OEM transducer, instrumentation, and measurement markets. SMD supplies leading-edge, thin film sensor technology offering superior stability, temperature performance, lower power consumption, and flexibility of design. With facilities in Connecticut and England, the company's engineering and development staffs support product design, shorten development cycles, and provide production-engineered solutions.
