MPD's line of lithium battery Gliders was expanded with the addition of two new holders for CR2450 coin cell batteries. CR2450 batteries typically offer 550 mAh versus 200 mAh for a standard CR2032 battery. 550 mAh is about the same amount of power as a 9V battery offers but in a smaller size and with the ever popular 3 volt output. MPD recently introduced a whole new category of lithium coin cell battery holders. "Gliders" are a hybrid type combining the low cost of retainers with higher reliability than regular coin cell battery holders. SMD and pc pin versions are immediate available for delivery. The retainer is made of nickel-plated phosphor bronze and features dual pressure contacts that have low electrical resistance and keep a tight connection with the lithium cell.
