New KEG2000 Series Liquid Silicone Offers Fast Cure and Reduced Waste

Akron, OH: Shincor Silicones, Inc., a North American subsidiary of Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., has recently announced a new grade of Liquid Injection Molding System (LIMS) products with excellent physical properties and optimized processing parameters.

The KEG2000 Series - produced in Shin-Etsu's new, state-of-the-art Thailand facility, distributed globally, and stocked locally - provides improved handling and molding properties to meet today's requirements for flashless, fully-automatic molding.

Offering "Dynamic Viscosity", KEG2000 products have been designed to have high viscosity under low shear stress (pumping and shut-off) and low viscosity under high shear stress (injection). Molding tests conducted in Shin-Etsu's LIMS Technical Center in Japan confirm the improved properties of these materials. The KEG2000 Series exhibits excellent gate-balance, possess a wide processing window, and provides outstanding mold release properties.

KEG2000 grades have outstanding clarity and are available in Shore A hardness from 20 - 75. The products are FDA and USP Class VI compliant and maintain Shin-Etsu's high standards for lot-to-lot consistency.

According to Eric Bishop, Marketing Manager at Shincor Silicones, "The KEG2000 Series is extremely versatile. These products represent the latest evolution of Shin-Etsu's LIMS technology.
