Smallest New Electro-Optic Liquid Level Sensors from Gems offer Greatest Performance

PLAINVILLE, CT. Gems Sensors announces two new additions to their broad family of electro-optic liquid level sensors. Each furthers the performance-to-size ratio that OEMs demand. The plastic ELS-900 Series features an overall length under 1.3 inches and operates in temperatures as high as 257°F. The alloy ELS-1150 features a stainless/carbon steel-fused glass prism design to handle pressures to 2500 psi, yet is less than 1.4 inches in length. Gems electro-optic sensors are ideal for liquid level applications in coolant reservoirs; medical diagnostic equipment, sterilizers, washers, dialysis equipment; lubricant systems in machine tools, generator sets, on- or off-road vehicles; hydraulic fluid reservoirs; HVAC and refrigeration systems; radiators and fluid overflow containers.

ELS-900 sensors feature a polyethersulfone housing and prism to maintain integrity in temperatures ranging from -40°F to 257°F and pressures to 250 psi. Polyethersulfone ensures compatibility in a broad range of fluids as well as affordability. These robust sensors also boast integral electronics. ELS-900's are CE approved to EMI standards, Shock and Vibration tested to MIL standards, and UL approval is pending. A choice of 5V or 12V models are available, with a mounting thread selection of 1/4" NPT, 1/2"-20 SAE #5 and M12x1-8.

ELS-1150 sensors feature alloy housings with fused glass prisms to perform in fluid temperatures to 212°F and pressures to 2500 psi, yet are 50% smaller than comparably performing sensors. The unit is available in 316 stainless steel (1/2" NPT or ¾"-16 models) or nickel-plated carbon steel (1/2" NPT or 3/4"-16 straight thread). ELS-1150 stainless steel versions are industry's only stainless electro-optic sensors available, and offer greater compatibility in acid, solvent and dielectric water applications. ELS-1150 units carry CE, UL and CUL approvals.
