Liquid Level Sensor Knows Which Way Is Up

Solving the problem of orientating the float travel in fluid level sensors for horizontal side mount applications, the latest innovation from switching, sensing and control solution specialists Gentech International is the VLS omni-directional liquid level sensor, which enables motor unit reservoirs - such as those used in truck tail lifts - to be easily mounted without regard to float travel.

The Gentech VLS sensor's innovative compensation feature - a cylindrical float weighted with an activating magnet and a hollow oval centre - means the sensor can be pre-fitted inside the motor unit reservoir, allowing the unit to be mounted at any angle without affecting sensor performance.

As the liquid level drops, the float containing the operating magnet moves away from the sensor body and signals the low level.

The stem of the Gentech VLS is of Nylon 6.6 while the float is Buna N and the sealing washer Nitrile. The unit can be mounted internally and does not require any orientation for float travel when side entry fitted.
