Liquid, Gas, and Steam Flowmeters contain no moving parts.

Press Release Summary:

Vortex flowmeters operate on principles of vortex shedding and ultrasonic sensing. Insertion and in-line types offer drift-free performance and withstand over-ranging without damage. Suited for applications where gas flows contains moisture or particulates, in-line liquid flowmeters suit pipes with 1/2 to 4 in. dia. Retractable insertion-type and wafer-type flowmeters measure liquid flow rates of 1 to 20 fps in pipes with 4 in. dia and 1 to 3 in. dia respectively.

Barton Vortex Flowmeters Combine High Accuracy with Excellent Repeatability

Liquid, Gas and Steam Vortex Flowmeters Contain no Moving Parts for Maximum Reliability and Maintenance-Free Operation

City of industry, CA (June 7, 2002) - Vortex flowmeters from Barton Instrument Systems are ideal for gas, steam, and liquid applications. Operating on the principles of vortex shedding and ultrasonic sensing, the rugged insertion and in-line type flowmeters feature high accuracy with excellent repeatability, no moving parts for maximum reliability, low pressure drop, easy low-cost installation and maintenance, drift-free performance, and the ability to withstand over-ranging without damage. CE compliance and/or intrinsically safe designs are available on selected models.

Gas and steam applications include stack gas flow monitoring, flare/digester gas measurement, natural gas-flow, incineration gas, compressed air measurement, energy monitoring and process steam.

Water sampling and treatment, continuous blending, batching control, irrigation systems, boiler feed water, municipal water systems, and water management are included in liquid applications.

Low-flow, insertion-type gas flowmeters allow accurate monitoring of flow rates down to as low as 2 fps and are ideally suited for applications where gas flows contain high levels of moisture or particulates. Wafer-type gas and steam flowmeters allow for years of maintenance-free operation in the toughest environments. In-line low-pressure gas flowmeters feature a unique vortex shedding technology that is perfect for rugged applications with minimal space requirements.

In-line liquid flowmeters are ideal for pipes with diameters from 1/2" to 4" and can be used to replace existing equipment or incorporated into new facilities for years of reliable service. Retractable insertion-type flowmeters measure liquid flow rates of 1 to 20 fps in pipe diameters from 4". Wafer-type flowmeters measure flow rates of 1 to 20 fps in pipes with diameters from 1" to 3".

Barton's flow computers are compatible with gas/steam vortex flowmeters and locally display rate and total flow on a 2-line x 20 character LCD. Three analog inputs for temperature, pressure and flow are provided to calculate compensated flow of any gas.

Complete product specifications are included in a 20-page brochure which is available on Barton's website at www.barton-instruments.com.
