Linux-tested Systems Ideal for Managing Web Services Environments

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 15 - Fujitsu Computer Systems today underscored its commitment to Linux with the new PRIMERGY(R) TX150 S3 tower server, a multipurpose mono-processor server offering excellent performance and scalability while setting a new standard for expansion options. Fujitsu also announced that it is now shipping the 2-way PRIMERGY BX620 S2 blade server -- the most compact two-way SCSI blade. Like all Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers, both systems are tested on Linux and fully certified for Red Hat and SUSE.

"Fujitsu has made a significant investment in providing the Linux community with a wide range of Red Hat and SUSE-certified servers and best-in- class tools," said Richard McCormack, vice president of product and solutions marketing for Fujitsu Computer Systems. "With superior performance and flexibility, our wide range of solutions enables customers to build the most reliable, cost-effective infrastructure."

The PRIMERGY TX150 S3 tower server is a multipurpose mono-processor server designed for business and infrastructure applications in branch offices, small offices, shops and departments. It can be configured either as a cost- optimized variation with new SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) technology, or as a high-availability SCSI version. The PRIMERGY TX150 S3 server will begin shipping this month with prices starting just below $1200.

The two-way PRIMERGY BX620 S2 blade server offers exceptional performance and flexibility designed primarily to handle mid-tier applications and is ideal for enterprise consolidations. Each PRIMERGY BX620 S2 blade can accommodate up to two Intel(R) Xeon(R) processors, 12 GB of ECC DDR2-SDRAM (PC3200) and two hot-plug Ultra320 SCSI hard drives. Each comes equipped with two Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and can be upgraded to include 2 x 2 GB Fibre Channel (FC) interfaces. The PRIMERGY BX620 blade server is available now and starts at approximately $2400 per blade.

Fujitsu is participating in this year's LinuxWorld Web Services Conference and Edge Expo, February 15-17 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. Fujitsu will demo its Interstage(R) XML Search(TM) system in Booth 1865.
