SKF® 'Speedi-Roll' Linear Guiding System Delivers Speed and Precision

The SKF® Speedi-Roll linear guiding system offers high load-carrying capacity, rigidity, and torque resistance where long strokes and/or high speeds are required. Typical applications for this lightweight cam roller type rail guide system include equipment used for automation, pick-and-place, and robotics operations; packaging; material handling; vending; and countless others demanding fast and precise linear guidance.

Speedi-Roll (Type LLE) integrates a machinable aluminum guide rail (fitted on both sides with hardened steel raceways) and a carriage with either four or six V-shaped steel rollers housed in an aluminum base. The combination of aluminum and hollow-center design for the rails (in sizes 25 and 35) promotes a lightweight package. The hollow "bores" running through the rails provide added value as potential wire or cable channels.

The system's roller design features unique elastic elements around the threaded bolt that adjusts and mounts the rollers. These elements reduce the risk of improper system mounting and contribute to cost-effective installation. Rollers are lubricated for their life to minimize maintenance and optimize service.

The three standard Speedi-Roll sizes (15, 25, and 35) are offered in a variety of dimensions and can achieve speeds up to 10m/sec, which permits shorter cycle times. Low friction between rail and rollers enhances system performance and reduces power demands for operation.

Guide rails can be modified easily and cost-effectively to satisfy unique prototype or application needs. Customized system configurations can be developed using standard roller and steel angle raceways to meet particular application requirements.
