DryLin T Linear Guide System Impervious to Woodchips and Sawdust Making it a Clear Choice for the Woodworking Industry

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. - January 31, 2005 - DryLin® T from igus® Inc., the industry-leading developer of DryLin linear bearings and linear guide systems, is impervious to woodchips and sawdust making it a clear choice for the woodworking industry. DryLin T is a maintenance-free, adjustable, profile guide rail which is dimensionally interchangeable with most traditional re-circulating ball guides.

DryLin T is comprised of a hard-anodized-aluminum T-shaped rail, an adjustable carriage made of clear-anodized aluminum and gliding elements made from igus' iglide® J polymer material blend, to form a lightweight unit. The iglide J glide inserts combine lubrication-free operation and low wear rates to make DryLin T a maintenance-free solution. They are also designed for easy adjustment of the clearance to the guide rail. DryLin T is resistant to dirt, dust and corrosion and has high shock absorption capabilities.

Other advantages of the DryLin T system include:
o a low rate of inertia for high accelerations and high speeds;
o lower noise levels than metal-on-metal solutions;
o the capacity to withstand high static loads in all directions for consistent performance under strenuous conditions;
o excellent vibration dampening; and
o a cost-effective solution.

Some specific woodworking applications include: mounting vacuum grippers to DryLin T; using DryLin T as part of a clamping system; saw mills; tool changers; wood chippers; and lateral mounting with a synchronized driving force on a wood-board handling device.

In addition to the woodworking industry, DryLin T is recommended for use in food, medical and clean room applications since it requires no lubrication; underwater applications due to its corrosion resistance; and for sensitive equipment such as semiconductors, wafer handling systems and test and measurement equipment due to its high shock absorption capabilities.
