Beck Introduces New Linear Electric Actuator

Newtown PA (November 2, 2006) - Harold Beck & Sons, Inc. announces the release of its new Group 42 Control Drive, a long-stroke linear electric actuator designed for industrial process control. The new Group 42 is capable of accurately modulating loads up to 1,000 lbs. of thrust with no duty-cycle limitations. The exclusive no-burnout motor, common to all Beck electric actuators, ensures constant control availability under the most severe modulation conditions.

The Group 42 control drive was developed in response to user demands for an actuator with improved reliability and control, plus flexible mounting for easy drop-in installation. Typical applications include: utility boiler burner air registers, overfire air ports, or any industrial final control element requiring precise positioning with long, linear actuation.

The Group 42 drive is fully enclosed in a weatherproof housing. It provides positioning resolution down to 0.1% of span, can stroke up to 18 inches, and is rated for use from - 40 °F to 185 °F (-40 °C to 85 °C).

The Group 42 drive offers the same excellent performance and maintenance-free design common to all other Beck actuator products. It is available in a variety of control configurations from simple open/close operation to continuously modulating control. Modulating version can be ordered with analog electronics or with intelligent digital control electronics featuring simple setup/configuration, diagnostics, advanced control features, and HART communication capabilities.

Headquartered in Newtown, Pennsylvania, USA, Harold Beck & Sons, Inc. designs and manufacturers a full line of electric actuators for precise control of dampers, valves, fluid couplings and other final control elements. Since 1936, Beck drives have earned a reputation in electric utility, pulp/paper, steel, aluminum, cement, glass, mineral, and other industries for outstanding performance, reliability and value.
