Waterbury, CT - Haydon Switch & Instrument's Size 17 Hybrid Linear Actuators can now be manufactured as an encoder ready actuator. These encoder ready actuators can be used to install several popular hollow shaft encoders. They are available with a 8mm extended rotor journal and a threaded rear housing. The Size 17 Hybrid Linear Actuators are available in captive, non-captive and external linear versions. The use of a proprietary manufacturing process which incorporates engineering thermoplastics in the rotor drive nut and a stainless steel acme leadscrew allows the motor to be much more efficient and durable than the v-thread and bronze configuration commonly used today.
The complete product line has resolutions ranging from 0.00006" to 0.002" per step, with operational thrust capabilities of up to 50 lbs. These linear actuators are ideal for applications requiring a combination of precise positioning, rapid motion and long life. Typical applications are X-Y tables, medical equipment, semiconductor handling, telecommunication equipment, valve control, and many more.
