Lightvision Media Chooses Pure Digital Fiberlink® RGB Fiber System For LED Screen at BC Place Stadium

Vancouver, British Columbia - Lightvision Media, Canada's largest outdoor digital signage advertising network, has chosen the Pure Digital Fiberlink® 7220 Series to transmit high-resolution RGB video to the largest LED screen in Western Canada, located outside BC Place Stadium - one of Vancouver's premiere sports and entertainment complexes.
The all-digital 7220 Series is used to transmit full motion video, at 640 x 480 resolution, over a 500-foot span of multimode fiber, linking a remote video player located inside the stadium to the screen outside. In addition to computer video resolutions up to 1366 x 768, the 7220 supports HDTV resolutions of 480p, 720p and 1080i (RGBHV format only) and stereo audio.
Throughout the day, the networked video player automatically logs into an FTP server located at Lightvision's head office and downloads the most current information, schedules and video spots. The information is then transmitted to the LED screen using the Pure Digital Fiberlink 7220 system.
"Installation of the 7220 Series took 15 minutes and it's been running great for several months now," explains Mark Spevakow, Vice President of Technology and founder of Lightvision Media. "The picture quality is very good, and there's no degradation of the image whatsoever. With plans to add more screens every year, any locations with a remotely located control room similar to BC Place, will certainly include the Pure Digital Fiberlink system as part of the installation."
