SCHOTT Fostec Launches the MHR®-50, A Compact, Metal Halide Light Source

June 17, 2003 - SCHOTT Fostec launches the MHR®-50, a compact, metal halide light source for applications that require bright, white light such as machine vision and microscopy applications.

The MHR®-50 is an exceptional light source producing significantly more light output than Halogen lamps with similar bulb lifetimes. Maintaining high uniformity during operation, the MHR®-50 Light Source can also produce extremely high light output when needed for special applications.

The MHR®-50 Light Source features a heavy-duty, grounded metal housing, built-in thermal shutdown, retractable handle, and a detachable IEC cord. The soft start "lamp saver" circuitry assists in producing twice the light output of DDL lamps, with a bulb lifetime of 3500 hours average at 50W output. Benefiting from a thirteen-blade iris diaphragm with infinite settings, the MHR®-50 can reduce light intensity while maintaining the color temperature.
