Wand System for Visible Light Cure Adhesives
Rocky Hill, Conn. - March 31, 2006.... Henkel Corporation has introduced the new Loctite ZETA 7720 Visible Light Wand System to deliver safe, efficient, immediate cure for a broad array of assembly applications. Designed for use with Loctite 3552(TM) and Loctite 3553(TM) Visible Light Cure Adhesives, this system provides output exceeding 1.5 W/cm2 of visible light irradiance, and can provide effective curing for bead sizes as large as ¾-inch diameter.
The Loctite ZETA 7720 requires no venting or specialized protective equipment to ensure worker safety. The system contains a 100 watt visible arc bulb that delivers up to twice the life of typical UV bulbs. The long-life fiber optic light guide significantly outlasts liquid filled light guides and is highly flexible to reach inaccessible cure locations.
Highly cost-effective, Loctite Visible Light Cure equipment requires a lower initial capital investment over UV cure systems. Long-life visible lamps reduce ongoing maintenance and bulb replacement costs. Visible light cure technology also frees up manufacturing floor space once dedicated to large curing ovens and temporary storage of work in process.
Loctite Visible Light Cure technology can be used in a wide range of industrial and medical assembly applications, and is ideal for designs with select substrates that will not transmit UV light such as translucent variations of blue, purple, grey, white and green. The low heat output of Visible Light Cure systems delivers excellent results on temperature sensitive substrates.
