Original Press Release:

IBM Library Server for Multiplatforms Offers New Search Capabilities and User Interface Customization

Overview
IBM Library Server for Multiplatforms, a follow-on product
for the BookManager® BookServer products, offers online reading and search capability to your company's information, stored in a virtual library. The library is composed of books, shelves, bookcases, and collections, and then served to standard Web browsers, on either external or internal corporate networks.

Compared to the use of standard HTML and graphics files in other Web libraries, the Library Server offers the advantage of a patented fuzzy, Boolean and morphological full-text searching across entire documents, shelves, and bookcases (not just the
currently loaded HTML file). In addition, a book's compressed file offers the capability of storing much more content in the same amount of disk space, depending on factors such as the amount of graphics and text in the content.

IBM Library Server is a replacement to the former IBM BookManager BookServer products. The new name is the result of significant changes to the function and user interface, and because it supports not only BookManager books, but also portable document format (PDF) files. Other new functions in the
Library Server include:
o Improved and customizable end-user interface
o Enhanced shelves and bookcases
o Expanded scope and improved usability of search
o Enhanced tables
o Navigation pane support for documents, shelves, and cases

Library Server for Multiplatforms supports Windows(TM), AIX®, and
