Level Transducers incorporate ASIC technology.

Press Release Summary:

Series 740 enables programmable adjustment of pressure range in the field. ASIC technology facilitates field re-ranging of output through attached cable by factor up to 10:1. Compensation of sensor errors over temperature increases overall accuracy to ±0.25% TEB over temperature range of -4 to 140°F. Pressure ranges are 0-5 psig through 0-100 psig. Units feature 316 SS or titanium package suited for rigorous environments.

New KPSI(TM) Level Transducers from Pressure Systems Provide Added Functionality, Improved Accuracy

Hampton, VA, April 2003 - Pressure Systems, Inc., manufacturer of KPSI(TM) Level and Pressure Transducers, has introduced a new line of transducers that enables programmable adjustment of the pressure range in the field. In addition, the transducers offer greatly improved thermal compensation, increasing overall accuracy up to ±0.25% Total Error Band (TEB) over the entire compensated temperature range of the transducers. The new Series 740 line of transducers is ideal for demanding applications where repeatable, precise measurement is needed, such as in the environmental and municipal markets.

The new Series 740 incorporates Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) technology that facilitates field re-ranging of the transducer output through the attached cable by a factor of up to 10:1, while minimizing the effect on total accuracy. The ability to re-range the unit in the field enables periodic adjustment of zero and span, if desired, as well as greater flexibility to inventory transducers locally.

Another major benefit of the ASIC technology is the greatly enhanced compensation of sensor errors over temperature. This increases overall accuracy of the transducer to ±0.25% TEB over the temperature range of up to -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F). The TEB specification alleviates the end user from having to combine multiple transducer error specifications to calculate the total accuracy of the unit.

The new level transducers, housed in a rugged 316 SS or titanium package, are suitable for rigorous environments encountered in liquid level measurement. The Series is UL/CUL, FM, and CSA approved for installation in Class I, Div. 1, Groups A, B, C and D; Class II, Div. 1, Groups E, F, and G; and Class III, Div. 1 hazardous locations.

Pressure ranges of the Series 740 are 0-5 psig through 0-100 psig, with intermediate ranges available to meet specific requirements. The Series 740 transducers are available in vented and sealed gage formats.

Pricing for the Series 740 transducers starts at $795 per unit. Delivery is 5 days ARO, with 1-4 day expedited delivery available.
