Level Transducers incorporate ASIC technology.

Press Release Summary:

Series 340 small-bore, submersible transducers provide total error band of 0.25% over compensated temperature range of -4 to 140°F. They are housed in 0.75 in. OD, 316 SS or titanium package and have pressure ranges of 0-5 through 0-100 psig. Units are offered with 0-5 Vdc, 3-wire output or 20 mA with 4-20 mAdc, 2-wire output. They include polarity and surge/shorted output circuit protection and are suitable for applications where small changes in levels are critical.

New ASIC-Based Submersible KPSI(TM) Level Transducers from Pressure Systems Dramatically Improves Overall Accuracy

Hampton, VA, January 29, 2003 - Pressure Systems, Inc., manufacturer of KPSI(TM) Level and Pressure Transducers, has introduced a line of small-bore submersible level transducers that incorporate the latest in Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) technology. The use of the ASIC greatly diminishes the effects of temperature changes and dramatically improves overall accuracy.

The new Series 340 level transducers are ideal for remote environmental water monitoring applications where small changes in liquid levels are critical, such as surface water, ground water, and down-hole monitoring. Their high accuracy also makes the Series 340 transducers well suited for use in tank level measuring applications, including above ground, underground and elevated storage tanks.

The Series 340 provides a total error band (TEB) of 0.25% over the entire compensated temperature range of -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F). This highly accurate TEB measurement accounts for all error sources including non-linearity, hysteresis, non-repeatability, and thermal effects.

The transducers, which are housed in rugged 0.75" outside diameter packages constructed of 316 SS or titanium, have pressure ranges of 0-5 psig through 0-100 psig, with intermediate ranges available. The units are available with 0-5 VDC output (3 wire) or 20 mA with 4-20 mAdc output (2 wire). The transducers also have polarity and surge/shorted output circuit protection.

An internal 24 VDC power supply simplifies the 4-20 mA current loop set up by eliminating the need for an external power supply. Cables for the new transducers are available in both polyurethane-jacketed and Tefzel-jacketed versions.

Pricing for the Series 340 transducers lists at $895 per unit. Delivery is 5 days ARO with 1-4 day expedited delivery available.
