Pressure Systems Now Offers Open-Face Nose Cap for waterMONITOR Datalogging Level Transducers

Hampton, VA, July 2005 -- Pressure Systems, manufacturer of KPSI(TM) Level and Pressure Transducers, now offers an open-face nose cap for its waterMONITOR submersible datalogging level transducers. The new variation of the nose cap, which allows maximum contact with the liquid media, is ideal for wastewater and greasy applications where a sensor may become clogged. In addition, the waterMONITOR's ability to store up to 600,000 level, temperature, and time stamp measurements makes the unit suitable for remote environmental data collection and process monitoring.

The transducer's RS-485 electrical interface uses SDI-12 protocol with selectable baud rates up to 19,200. The waterMONITOR provides an accuracy of +0.05% FS Total Error Band (TEB) and can meet the demanding accuracy specifications of the US Geological Survey (USGS) Office of Surface Water. A quick-disconnect cable attachment facilitates field replacement of internal batteries, which have a nominal lifespan of three years. The rugged, 3/4" diameter unit comes in welded 316 SS or titanium.

Selectable sampling modes include linear, linear averaging, event, and logarithmic. The unit also features programmable sampling rates of up to 15 readings/second; incorporates internal non-volatile memory of 2 MB or 4 MB; and uploads data at 100 scans/second at a baud rate of 19,200, with a pressure and temperature time stamp. The new transducer has full-scale level ranges from 0-10 ft. to 0-692 ft. of water and an operating temperature of -20°C to 50°C (-4°F to 122°F).

Pressure Systems' accompanying KPSI applications software (K-ware) is an intuitive yet comprehensive Visual Basic-based package. The software, including any future upgrades, is available on Pressure Systems' web site at no charge: pressuresystems.com/KPSI_software.html.

The polyurethane-jacketed cable is custom-manufactured with Kevlar® strength members to prevent elongation, and a self-sealing water block to protect against minor cuts to the cable. Each transducer is furnished with a vent filter that prevents humidity from entering the vent tube.

Pricing for a waterMONITOR with open-face nose cap starts at $1,095 for single piece quantities. Delivery is four weeks ARO.
