GSSI Highlights UtilityScan® GPR System at GSA Annual Meeting

GSSI will showcase the new UtilityScan® GPR system at Geological Society of America's (GSA’s) Annual Meeting, November 4-7, 2018, in Indianapolis, IN. Visit Booth #328 to see the affordable addition to the UtilityScan product line – the industry standard system for efficiently identifying and marking the location and depth of subsurface utilities. Also on display at the booth will be the SIR 4000 GPR control unit, the 350 HyperStacking Antenna and the StructureScan Mini XT.

The UtilityScan features innovative technology never before available in the marketplace. The compact size makes it extremely portable and easy to maneuver in tight survey areas. This system has a robust wireless antenna that can handle required data rates and is ruggedly built to withstand challenging field conditions. The new UtilityScan uses GSSI’s patented HyperStacking technology, which has proven to increase depth penetration in challenging soils, while also providing high near surface data resolution. UtilityScan also has a backup Ethernet connection if Wi-Fi is not desired or allowed on a particular jobsite or facility. This unit can also be equipped with the LineTrac™ accessory, which helps locate specific power sources situated underground, including AC power and induced RF energy present in conduits.

Visitors to the booth can also see the SIR® 4000 ground penetrating radar (GPR) control unit. The controller is designed to bridge the legacy of GSSI’s traditional analog antennas with next-generation of digital offerings, giving it the flexibility by supporting a wide range of users in numerous applications.

Additionally, on display will be GSSI’s 350 HS Antenna, which greatly improves the depth and data resolution performance of traditional real time sampling technologies. The 350 HS Antenna allows users to see deeper targets and operate in conditions considered too “noisy” for conventional systems. Easily configurable, the 350 HS antenna is ideal for archaeology, geophysics, and utility locating applications.
