Creform Cart… The “Angle� on Productivity
Greer, SC—Creform Corporation, a manufacturer of unique products for material handling structures, has designed and produced a picking cart with angled shelves ideal for component manufacturers and distributors. The cart implements a design that makes the best use of form, fit and function.
The warehouse picking cart features three angled shelves on each side with positions for 18 boxes or totes, each in their own physically dedicated compartment. This design provides that each compartment can be used for a unique customer order or type of product. The angled positions of the shelves enhance ergonomics for an associate and is well suited for E-commerce order fulfillment.
The design of the cart allows for boxes or totes that can be filled through piece picking. The shelves are canted toward the outside of the cart for easy load/unload access and visibility, and to keep product towards the front of the totes and towards the outside of the cart. Each of the cart’s shelves can be repositioned or whole cart customized with only simple tools. Repairs, too, are easily made.
The cart features six 6 in. diameter bolt-on casters with urethane wheels for easy, stable and safe rolling. Two fixed and four that swivel. The two fixed casters are in the center and allow for directional control and since the cart is pushed during the entire workday, the cart’s weight is kept as low as possible while still maintaining the necessary strength and durability. This is achieved with Creform’s 28 mm plastic coated steel tubing and clamping metal joints that provide the strength yet retain flexibility. The open design of the cart lets the associate see through the structure for safe operation.
A comfortable and ergonomic handle on one end enhances comfort. The C-shaped handle with cross bars also makes the cart easy to push. The handle’s vertical nature of the handle allows the associate to automatically positioning his hands at a comfortable height. Further, the handle features two small storage bins for the miscellaneous tools and supplies associated with picking. The cart’s dimensions are 36" W x 76" L x 60” T and is designed to hold up to 600 pounds.
As with all Creform carts, higher capacity and custom cart sizes and configurations are possible with the Creform system of 28 mm, 32 mm and 42 mm plastic coated steel pipes and metal joints. They can be configured for ESD (anti-static) applications. The component nature of Creform carts provides added value and ensures that if there is any damage or worn components replacement parts are readily available. Carts can be outfitted with a hitch for towing or turned into an AGV with addition of a Creform drive unit.
A wide variety of pipe color options are available and upgrade hitches are available for AGV delivery. Accessories include items such as cup holders, storage bins, hooks, holsters for picking guns, label holders for shelf levels or even shelf positions, writing surface with clip boards, etc. Creform carts are available as a kit, assembled structure or in component form for a complete DIY solution.
