Laser Measurement System has repeat accuracy of ±2 mm.

Press Release Summary:

LAS100 measurement system gathers measuring values with 1 mm resolution via laser. Output signals can be directly displayed or interfaced to PLC or NC controllers. Features include absolute positioning up to 100 m, no moving parts, no need for referencing, and integral PLC/NC controls: SSI, Profibus, CAN and Interbus. Distances to be measured are bridged by laser light. Laser transmitting power is greater than or equal to 1 mW.

Laser Measurement System

Precise laser positioning system for absolute measurement over 325 feet!

SIKO's new positioning system gathers measuring values with millimeter resolution via laser. Output signals can be directly displayed or interfaced to any standard PLC or NC controller.

The economical LAS100 laser system features:

* 1 mm resolution with absolute positioning up to 100 m
* No moving parts to wear out
* Integral PLC/NC controls: SSI, Profibus, CAN, Interbus
* No referencing, current position immediately available

With the new LAS100 system distances to be measured are bridged by laser light. The beam is sent out from a laser diode and carries a modulated signal to a reflector. A phase delay enables recording of the distance. The sender and reflector are attached to the measuring axis and aligned so as to guarantee permanent reflection.

The <1mW transmitting power of the laser corresponds to laser class II that is harmless for human eyes. After switching on, the system delivers absolute signals with maximum resolution of 1 mm and repeat accuracy of ±2 mm. Thanks to its high protection class the LAS 100 can be used outdoors. This precise linear measuring system has a wide range of applications for logistics, conveying and material handling.
