Laser Diode Modules measure 8 mm dia and 25.5 mm long.

Press Release Summary:

Available in 650 and 635 nm models, Laser Diode Modules produce elliptical, collimated output beam of 3.5 x 1.5 mm with output powers of 0.9 or 4.5 mW and 0.9 or 4.0 mW, respectively. Modules consist of brass housing, laser diode, drive circuit, and adjustable lens. Operating temperature is -10 to +50°C for 650 nm unit and -10 to +40°C for 635 nm model, while beam divergence is less than 1 mrad for both. Electrical connections are made via external flying leads.

Original Press Release:

New 635nm and 650nm Compact Laser Diode Modules

Photonic Products is delighted to launch its new range of compact, 8mm diameter, laser diode modules for customers requiring a small laser module to be integrated into systems and handheld instrumentation where space is at a premium. Typical applications are targeting, industrial alignment such as pre-press plate alignment and laser alignment for label and wrapper cutting machinery, and medical applications such as
patient positioning.

The laser modules measure just 25.5mm in length, with a diameter of only 8mm and are extremely efficient and reliable.

The 650nm laser diode modules produce an elliptical, collimated output beam of 3.5 x 1.5mm, with output powers of 0.9mW or 4.5mW. Operating voltage is from 3V to 6V DC at an operating current of 30mA typ, (0.9mW) or 40mA typ, (4.5mW). Beam divergence is less than 1mrad and operating temperature range is -10 degrees Centigrade to +50 degrees Centigrade.

The 635nm laser diode modules produce an elliptical, collimated output beam of 3.5 x 1.5mm, with output powers of 0.9mW or 4.0mW. Operating voltage is from 3V to 6V DC at an operating current of 30mA typ, (0.9mW) or 40mA typ, (4.5mW). Beam divergence is less than 1mrad and operating temperature range is -10 degrees Centigrade to +40 degrees Centigrade.

The laser modules consist of a brass housing, laser diode, drive circuit and adjustable collimating or focusing lens. The lens may be adjusted to produce either a collimated beam or focused spot. Electrical connections are made via external flying leads. They have been designed as a complete laser diode solution for OEM companies.

For applications requiring electrical isolation of the laser module housing, a hard anodised aluminium housing version of this compact laser module is available.

Photonic Products was established in 1995 and is a manufacturer of electro-optical sub-assemblies and innovative optoelectronic components based on semiconductor laser diode technology and also a specialist distributor of high performance industrial laser diodes, LEDs and precision optical lenses. It is a Queen's Award for International
Enterprise winner.
