Mazak Laser Cells Handle Sheets Up To One Inch Thick
SCHAUMBURG, IL - Mazak's automated laser load/unload cells can now automatically load, cut and unload sheets up to one inch thick. At the heart of the automated system a Mazak 4000-watt laser cuts sheet sizes up to 4'x 8', 5'x10' or 6'x12'. A pneumatic loader can pick up one sheet of plate at a time and carry it to the laser. Just before the loader places the sheet on the laser bed, a fork style unloader picks up the cut sheet skeleton and parts, micro-jointed or micro-jointless.
To maximize torch time, the laser quickly begins cutting the new sheet. Simultaneously, the unloader carries the cut sheet to an unload station. Controlled by the laser's NC, this simple automated laser cell offers processing efficiency that ranks between Mazak's laser pallet shuttle and Laser FMS. These material handling options are available with many of Mazak's high production 2-D and 3-D lasers.
The automated laser load/unload cell is part of a broad line of 1000 to 4000 watt Mazak CO2 cutting machines and automated material handling equipment designed for efficient production processing of sheetmetal and plate as well as preformed sheetmetal and pipe. The line is offered in the U.S. by Mazak Nissho lwai, Schaumburg, IL.
