Las Vegas Valley Water District Hits It Big with BancTec Technology

DALLAS, May 30 -- The Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD), which provides water service to more than one million people in southern Nevada, recently went live with a new system that automates and significantly enhances its ability to process checks and other documents received by mail. "By replacing a legacy 'read and key' remittance processing system with the new software, we have substantially improved our operational efficiency, as well as our ability to connect customer data with other corporate systems."

The Las Vegas Valley Water District replaced its labor-intensive remittance processing system with BancTec's PayCourier® solution. Now, LVVWD can process 8,000 payments per day, with peak volume of up to 15,000 payments. Also, the archival capability provided by PayCourier enables the District to streamline daily tasks associated with processing and storing tens of thousands of scanned documents, as well as improve the research and resolution of customer payment concerns. The automated system also improves information posting by integrating and sharing data with the District's customer information system (CIS) and general ledger.
