Labor Tracking Tool from MicroMain Adds Approvals, Additional Features

xmLABOR v6.1 Allows Easy Tracking, Managing of Labor Hours

(November 23, 2004) AUSTIN, TX - MicroMain Corporation, a leading provider of asset and facility management software and services, today announced general availability of xmLABOR(TM) v6.1, an integrated labor timesheet program used to track and manage staff and contract labor. xmLABOR is a stand-alone module that posts data to MicroMain XM(TM), the company's flagship computerized maintenance management (CMMS)/enterprise asset management (EAM) system.

With xmLABOR, staff and contract labor enter time and additional information without accessing the MicroMain XM base system. Using the stand-alone module, the workforce views only timesheet fields and needed maintenance work order details. This allows organizations to maintain tight security regarding additional work order information, such as name of requester. Organizations are also able to shield sensitive information tracked in MicroMain XM, including labor pager numbers and wage rates.

The upgraded xmLABOR now includes an option for transaction approvals prior to timesheet submission. These approvals can be used for compliance regulations, such as those required by the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). The module also includes an email report feature that can be used to request approvals before posting labor time.

In addition to logging hours related to work orders, xmLABOR now tracks labor time that is not directly related to work orders. This standard labor timesheet record captures time spent on administrative tasks and break times. With all hours accounted for in a day, supervisors can better track and make decisions regarding "tool time," or hours spent completing maintenance tasks.

Additional features in this upgraded module include options for updating existing work order labor records and tracking the type of labor hours posted-such as regular, overtime, vacation, bereavement, or jury duty. Users will also find expanded functionality regarding work order status updates. Parts and specific costs can be added to work orders, as well.

xmLABOR includes a log of all transactions. Transaction events include non-work-order hours, new labor records assigned to a work order, and work order labor updates. Each event, tagged with a log ID, displays detailed labor data including approvals if required. Those events associated with a work order include additional details such as equipment downtime, primary and secondary failures generating the work order, status, shop, and supervisor.

As with all MicroMain products, xmLABOR is shipped "open," with source code included at no additional charge. This allows users to customize the system, as needed, for their particular needs. The extensive reporting capability also includes options for customizing reports.

"Our users were very excited to see the beta of xmLABOR v6.1 at our Users Conference last month," said Pat Conroy, President of MicroMain. "They really like the fact that labor can track time throughout the day without having to access MicroMain XM. We're committed to keeping this module feature-rich but very easy to use, and we're pleased with the extremely positive response we're seeing with xmLABOR's new release."
