Weber to Highlight Exclusive Line of Label Printer-Applicators at Pack Expo 2002

Applications: Weber labeling and coding systems are used throughout industry, in markets as diverse as food and fabricated metal, pharmaceuticals and lumber, chemical and consumer products -- virtually any business where products or packages need to be identified.

Arlington Heights, IL - Weber Marking Systems will demonstrate a complete offering of labeling and coding systems at Pack Expo 2002 booth S-2274, with special emphasis on its exclusive Model 5200 label printer-applicator. The show will be held November 3-7 at Chicago's McCormick Place.

Designed, engineered and manufactured by Weber, the Model 5200 comes with a choice of high-density thermal/thermal-transfer print engines that produce labels with text, bar codes and graphics. Print engines are available in 203- or 300-dpi models and accommodate pressure-sensitive labels up to 6" wide by 6" long at print speeds up to 12" per second.

The versatile Model 5200 offers three label placement methods in order to address the diverse range of applications found throughout industry. Air-blow, flex-tamp, and tamp-blow methods all provide precise label positioning of +/- 0.03", and are capable of applying labels to the tops or sides of products, cartons, and other packages as they travel down conveyor lines.

Many options also are available for the Model 5200. These include a quick-change tamp pad that allows the systems to handle different label sizes with ease, and a product height sensor to enable the unit to label items of differing heights. Complete details and specifications on the Model 5200, including video demonstrations and a PDF download, can be found at www.webermarking.com/html/5200.html.

Weber Marking Systems will exhibit many additional labeling systems at Pack Expo 2002. The booth will feature a number of printer-applicator products, including models used to label adjacent sides of cartons. In addition, pre-printed label applicators will be affixing pressure-sensitive labels to various products and packages.

Weber also will showcase its LegiJet line of ink jet coders. Several large-character and high-resolution systems will be operating, demonstrating LegiJet's ability to mark and code a complete range of products and packages with variable-sized text, bar codes, and graphic images.

Booth S-2274 will include hands-on displays of its wide assortment of pressure-sensitive label materials, which are used to meet the challenges of both industrial and retail labeling. Software that simplifies the operation of Weber's labeling and ink jet coding systems also will be on site, as well as label printer ribbons and coding inks.
