Connect IQ for HealthVault Empowers Patients to Orchestrate Health Information Mobility
PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 25 - Kryptiq, the leading provider of next generation healthcare connectivity solutions, today announced the first public demonstration of secure messaging between physician offices and patients using Microsoft(R) HealthVault(TM), at the 2008 HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) Conference. Connect IQ(TM) for HealthVault now allows consumers to view, save and send clinical information from within their HealthVault account, improving coordination of care. When HealthVault was first launched in October 2007, consumers were given the ability to collect and store their health data in a secure online environment. Now patients and physicians can exchange problem and medication lists, lab and radiology reports, care plans and home monitored clinical data - all essential elements to improving the co-ordination of care, especially for a patient under the care of more than one physician.

These same standards are reflected in the proposed 2008 CCHIT(R) Ambulatory criteria for EHR certification. However, the industry has yet to coalesce around a standard vehicle for transporting this information.
