Kingsbury's Messinger Bearings Brand Launches Tapered Roller Bearing Line
Philadelphia, PA (August 3, 2009) - Kingsbury Inc., the inventor and most respected manufacturer of tilting-pad fluid-film bearings, is pleased to announce that its Messinger Bearings brand has officially entered the large tapered roller bearing market. Messinger Bearings, founded in 1912, manufactures custom, large and specialty rolling element bearings for harsh conditions. The company started manufacturing and repairing tapered roller bearings, in diameters from 1 foot to 6 feet, in late July 2009 after investing six months in staffing, tools and training to meet critical customer tolerances.
The decision to enter the tapered roller bearing market was made after an analysis of industry needs. According to Dan Matthews, Product Manager for the Messinger Bearings brand, "The marketplace was exhibiting increasing signs of fatigue due to longer and longer deliveries on this niche type and size of rolling element bearing. Since we have been in the business of designing and manufacturing other types of roller bearings for nearly 100 years, it seemed like a perfect time to capitalize on the combination of market pressure and our experience to make this move now."
Kingsbury provided the investments to quickly master the skill sets and tools to enable the company to offer its existing and new customers an alternative to status-quo resources.
