EAO - a world leader in Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) - has launched two cutting-edge keyboards - touch-sensitive and mechanical - suitable for web payphones, kiosks as well as any application that requires resistance to harsh environments.
These keyboards from EAO are designed to resist fluids, cleaning agents and vandalism, making them ideal for use in public places.
Developed specifically for the internet market, these keyboards feature dedicated shortcut keys, like http://www. or .com, which can be tailored precisely to the needs of the customer. They can also be wired to all existing environments: Windows, Linux and Mac (OS9, OSX).
The mechanical keyboard
Built from stainless steel and zinc alloy, EAO's mechanical keyboard has a high resistance to vandalism. It features anti-pull-off keys, which can be laser engraved for high-definition and wear-resistant markings.
It is sealed against liquid penetration using a unique one-piece membrane that extends to the edges of the keyboard.
This keyboard is available in the standard layout of ten different languages. A customer-specific layout is available on request for other applications like industrial control panels and ticket issuing machines.
And a choice of mouse modules too
EAO offers a choice of mouse modules - touch pad and trackball.
The touch pad is built from stainless steel and composite materials, the trackball from stainless steel and zamak. Like the keyboards, they are designed to resist fluids, cleaning agents and vandalism, making them ideal for use in internet kiosks, or as part of an industrial control panel in a factory environment.
The touch-sensitive keyboard
Totally adaptable, EAO's 74-key touch-sensitive keyboards can be configured out-of-the-box using EAO's innovative Studio Creative Box software (included). Customers can take control and create dedicated shortcut keys like http://www. or .com, design the keyboard layout and color - even alter the keyboard shape - so it matches the precise needs of their product.
A big advantage is that the keyboard works without switching contacts, switching membranes or any other moving parts.
This keyboard will resist even the most abrasive public or factory environment once sealed under a glass cover up to 10mm thick.
This keyboard can also be fitted with a specially designed touch pad mouse module that will work behind a glass or polycarbonate front panel.
