Rugged SST Keyboards Solve Your Problems In Harsh Environments

APEM's new keyboards feature stainless steel front face and keys, and are designed to withstand intensive use without damage in harsh environments (bad weather, shock, vandalism and other hazards). All are front panel sealed to meet IP65.

Applications for these keyboards include multimedia interactive kiosks installed in indoor and outdoor public places like airports, banks, trade centers, tourist information locations, and theme parks. The longer travel keyboards are ideal for rapid data entry and retrieval, such as train and plane schedules and reservations, tourist events, hotel accommodations and Stock Exchange portfolio management.

Standard keyboards with 4 to 16 round or square keys, or 55 to 90 keys, with or without stainless steel or ABS trackball are offered with LED backlighting options. Another desirable option for keyboards used in outdoor applications is heating, to keep the keyboard at a positive temperature for comfortable operator use. On request, APEM will also develop custom keyboards in various shapes with custom key marking and parallel or series interface.

Keyboards are sealed in operation, feature tactile feedback and provide 3,000,000 minimum operations. Key travels from 0.5 to 1.5 mm are optional. These models will operate in temperatures from -20°C to 70°C.

Pricing for a representative model with 12 keys, SK12001, is $73.12 each in 100 piece quantities.
