Original Press Release:

Anti-Vandal Keyboard and Trackball is Smooth to the Touch

The new vandal-resistant metal keyboard and integrated trackball from EAO is incredibly tough without sacrificing the smooth key action of a normal PC keyboard.

The integrated unit is built from brushed stainless-steel and Zamac (zinc alloy) and features non-flammable keys that cannot be pulled off. It offers high levels of shock and vibration resistance and a service life of at least 1.5 million actuations. It is protected against the ingress of dust and water (IP 67 from front), making is suitable for outdoor use.

One of the most significant advantages of EAO's keyboards is the smooth key stroke. The keys have a 1.5 mm travel and need only a gentle press to realistically simulate the touch-type action of a standard PC keyboard. They are finished in matt chrome and are laser engraved for high-definition black marking which will not easily corrode or wear off.

EAO's keyboard and integrated trackball also offers:

o A choice of two interface languages: PS2 and USB
o Standard availability in the keyboard layout of 10 different languages
o Internet dedicated shortcut keys like 'www', '.com' and '@'
o A single integrated unit for faster, easier mounting

EAO, a world leader in human-machine interfaces (HMI), designed the keyboard and trackball for a wide range of applications, from internet kiosks and information terminals to factory process control.

A custom-specific layout can also be created on request for other applications like industrial process control panels and ticket issuing machines.
