Machine Recognized as Sanitation Device without Chemicals
Hamilton, OH - Kaivac, Inc., developers of the No-Touch Cleaning(TM) System, announces that it has entered the company's Kaivac 1250 into this year's ISSA Innovations Awards Program.
The program is designed to recognize the industry's more innovative products. Industry professionals are encouraged to vote online for the most innovative products in the following five categories:
o Power Equipment
o Services, Technology, and Other
o Supplies and Accessories.
According to Tom Morrison, vice president of marketing for Kaivac, one reason the "1250" was entered into the contest was because of tests performed at a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-certified laboratory. The tests indicate that the machine can reduce more than 99.9 percent of targeted microbes using just plain water.
"This qualifies it as a sanitizing device according to EPA criteria," Morrison says. "This does not mean [the 1250] must be used without chemicals. It just means it can be used without chemicals and still achieve EPA standards for sanitation and hygienic cleaning."
Because the equipment can be used to sanitize surfaces without the use of chemicals, adds Morrison, it also qualifies the machine as a "Green" cleaning system.
"We believe the sanitizing properties of the 1250, along with the fact that it is environmentally preferable, make this a unique, innovative product," Morrison says.
The machine will be on display at the upcoming ISSA/INTERCLEAN 2010 tradeshow in Orlando later this year.

About No-Touch Cleaning®
Designed to remove the maximum amount of soil, bacteria, and other biopollution, Kaivac's patented No-Touch Cleaning systems combine an indoor pressure washer, a powerful wet vacuum and chemistry into an integrated system. Empowering workers to hygienically clean without touching contaminated surfaces, these systems not only clean better, but also cut labor, chemical, and equipment costs while raising worker morale and image. In fact, studies show that Kaivac's No-Touch Cleaning systems are 60 times more effective in reducing bacterial contamination on tile and grout surfaces than mops, which are more likely to spread contaminants than remove them.
