Kaba Enters into a Strategic Partnership with PlaSec to Offer the PL-500 Series Access Control Platform Through It's Distribution Network.

Kaba Access Control announced today that they will resell PlaSec's Linux-based PL-500 series platform as they further expand the integration capabilities of Kaba's Card-Connected(TM) E-Plex® 5900 Series door locks and controllers. Used together, the PL-500 series and E-Plex® 5900 series provide simple and scalable access control from 1 to 1000s of doors using ISO 14443A Smart Cards so that offline and online (wired) access points can be managed from the same platform. This innovative solution designed specifically for the access control dealer to easily install is browser-based, and therefore, software does not have to be installed on a PC.

Adding integrated access points is as simple as installing a lock without the expense of running wires or wireless infrastructure across the facility. If desired, the PlaSec Collaborative Platform can be easily configured to interoperate with identity management, network access control, event management and network monitoring systems. Both PlaSec and Kaba utilize CoreStreet's Card-Connected technology to integrate offline and online (wired) access points.
