Jaspersoft Unveils Business Intelligence for the New IT World

CEO Brian Gentile kicks off inaugural JasperWorld conference with company's roadmap for tackling the new requirements of Business Intelligence
SAN FRANCISCO -- JASPERWORLD 2011 - Kicking off a sold-out, inaugural JasperWorld Conference, Jaspersoft today unveiled its vision and roadmap for a new and modern business intelligence (BI) platform designed to address the new requirements of IT.
In his keynote, CEO Brian Gentile describes an emerging class of business, technology and user requirements that are defining a new IT world. This world is characterized by a heightened sensitivity to cost, a new technology stack that includes Cloud and Big Data and the consumerization of enterprise IT.
Today's business intelligence platforms are ill-equipped to tackle these requirements. This new BI offering will require a modern, flexible architecture, an enterprise consumer-ready interface and operate on a cost-effective business model. With these new characteristics, the long sought-after dream of pervasive business intelligence can finally be realized. Today's reality is that only 20 percent of information workers use BI regularly. With a lower-cost, highly consumable, deploy-anywhere product running embedded or standalone, business intelligence can reach a much broader range of enterprise users than ever before.
Equally important in the realization of pervasive BI is the requirement for a new role in BI that is starting to emerge: the BI Builder. The BI Builder combines experience in BI with expertise in the new IT stack, playing a critical role in bridging the last mile of BI to more users.
