IR Camera fuses infrared and visible light images.

Press Release Summary:

IR FlexCam series cameras are available with IR-FUSION technology, which combines 1.3 megapixel visible light sensor with VoX uncooled microbolometer IR sensor to simultaneously capture both infrared and pixel-for-pixel visible light image from same viewing perspective. With 2x, 4x, and 8x digital zoom, cameras have selectable temperature ranges, image browsing capabilities with movable on-screen spots and boxes, 8-color linear pallets, and on-board CompactFlash memory.

Original Press Release:

New Technology Fuses Infrared and Visible Light Images in a Single Display

Minneapolis, MN-March 6, 2006-Infrared Solutions, Inc. has developed IR-FUSION(TM) technology that facilitates pixel-for-pixel merging of infrared and visible light images on a single display. IR-FUSION provides five viewing modes designed to add greater clarity, accuracy and a valuable frame of reference to infrared images. Viewing modes include:

o Full Infrared-high-resolution standard infrared images
o Full Visible Light-pixel-for-pixel, visible light digital reference images
o Picture-in-Picture-an IR image portal surrounded by a frame of visible light for reference
o Alpha Blending-combines infrared and visible light images together at user-adjustable levels for the greatest image clarity
o IR/Visible Alarm-displays only the portions of the image that fall above or below a user-specified temperature range as IR, leaving the remainder of the image as full visible light

"With IR-FUSION, now you can see more of what you're inspecting-it's easier to identify details, manage and analyze images with complete control over both the infrared and visible light spectrum", said Sean O'Driscoll, Vice President of Sales & Marketing of Infrared Solutions. "The ability to fuse images on-camera and optimize images in real-time, combined with an exclusive on-screen, laser pointing indicator, improves primary target identification, enhances issue locating efficiency and offers a tremendous advantage in reporting clarity."

O'Driscoll added that when viewing large banks of similar components or a large number of locations, clearly identifying targets for remediation with IR images as the sole frame of reference can be a challenge. IR-FUSION not only lets you capture visible light control images, but displays the images fused together, adding a new dimension of detail that saves time and best conveys infrared information of each specific application and environment.

A 1.3 mega-pixel visible light sensor combined with Infrared Solutions's Vanadium Oxide (VoX) uncooled microbolometer IR sensor simultaneously capture both the most sensitive infrared and pixel-for-pixel visible light image from the same viewing perspective. The operator has complete freedom to easily view and capture the image in the desired mode and quickly adjust the strength of either the visible or IR image in real-time, ensuring optimum levels of detail and reference both on the camera or in the PC software. Visible and IR images are linked for easy reporting and file management.

IR-FUSION is currently available as an option on the company's award-winning IR FlexCam series infrared cameras. IR-FUSION equipped IR FlexCam models feature industry leading thermal sensitivity, selectable temperature measurement ranges, image browsing capabilities with movable on-screen spots and boxes, 8-color linear pallets, 2x, 4x and 8x digital zoom, enhanced annotation capabilities and on-board CompactFlash memory. All cameras come standard with Infrared Solutions' new SmartView(TM) image management software, a complete suite of powerful analysis, management and reporting tools. The intuitive software is both easy to use and offers superior flexibility for generating and customizing professional reports.
