Invensys Awarded the Operator Training Simulation Project for Cheniere Energy's Sabine Pass LNG Receiving Terminal in Louisiana

FOXBORO, MASSACHUSETTS, USA - April 11, 2007 - Invensys Process Systems (www.invensys.com/ps) announces that it has been selected to implement the Operator Training Simulation (OTS) system for Cheniere Energy, Inc's Sabine Pass LNG receiving terminal being built in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

The new OTS, based on the SimSci-Esscor DYNSIM dynamic modeling environment, will be used for initial training and retraining of control room operators, operating supervisors and other plant equipment operators at the terminal. Additional functions will include checkout tools for the distributed control system (DCS) and emergency shutdown system (ESD). The flexibility of the SimSci-Esscor (www.simsci-esscor.com) simulation solution will also allow Cheniere to use the system for process engineering and testing, non-control system equipment simulation, and training for instrumentation and engineering workers outside the control room.

The flexibility of the solution is made possible by the SIM4ME architecture, which integrates process simulation, controls simulation and equipment simulation within an open and scalable architecture that can accommodate a range of functions based on a shared set of dynamic simulation principles and user interfaces.

The new contract builds on previous Invensys performance in the Sabine Pass project. Invensys has also been awarded the Terminal Operations Management (TOMS), which will automate and integrate business processes in Customer Services, Production Operations and Compliance Management. More than 20 critical software systems from Invensys and third parties will be integrated within the Terminal Operation Management System and with Cheniere's enterprise level business systems.

Previously, Invensys had been awarded, and successfully completed, the Front End Engineering and Design (FEED) for the Terminal Operations Management System for Sabine Pass. The objective of the FEED effort was to provide a high-level design of a system that would facilitate safety, reliability, maintainability, operation efficiency and integration of terminal operations information systems, enabling an upward integration from the terminal's unit level controls to Cheniere's corporate offices.

Invensys is able to provide a uniquely broad spectrum of solutions, services and consultative skills, including business understanding and methodology, information technology, in depth LNG technical knowledge as well as LNG solution technologies. The people on Invensys project teams have brought together business consulting, system integration, automation control solutions, and project management for LNG companies worldwide.
