NetLink Wireless Telephone Support for VoIP and Wi-Fi Standards on Display at Interop Las Vegas 2006
LAS VEGAS, Interop Booth No. 316, May 2, 2006 / SpectraLink Corp. (NASDAQ:SLNK), the leader in workplace wireless telephony, is participating in the InteropLabs VoIP: Security and Integration Initiative this week. The company's NetLink Wireless Telephones are part of a demonstration of voice over IP (VoIP) integration into enterprise network and security systems. The NetLink handsets are shown operating over a standards- based Wi-Fi network tied to a Digium Asterisk open source IP PBX platform.
At Interop Las Vegas 2006, the InteropNet will fuel the InteropLabs, the world's only real-time live interoperability test bed for the latest networking technologies. The InteropLabs will showcase the latest solutions to real engineering challenges in a live, vendor-neutral, standards-based arena and will focus this year on three primary areas: Open Source Software, Network Access Control and VoIP: Security and Integration. The InteropLabs will give attendees the opportunity to test-drive new products and technologies based on performance, not marketing claims.
For the InteropLabs, SpectraLink contributed the only enterprise-grade Wi-Fi handsets available that support the SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) VoIP protocol as well as the Wi-Fi Alliance's security specifications WPA/WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access) and the Alliance's quality of service (QoS) specification WMM (Wi-Fi Multimedia). NetLink Wireless Telephones are also on display in the Interop booths of SpectraLink and several of its industry partners.
