HUNTSVILLE, Ala., June 7, 2011- Intergraph(®) Corporation reveals its global launch of GeoMedia® Smart Client, a solution currently serving more than 25,000 European users that impact 30 million people. GeoMedia Smart Client, formerly "Respublica", is designed to extend the use of advanced geospatial capabilities throughout multi-disciplinary organizations by delivering advanced geospatial workflows to large numbers of employees through a simple, cost-effective and accessible tool.
GeoMedia Smart Client delivers an enterprise geospatial platform engineered to support large numbers of users who are unable to operate full desktop products, but whose workflows need advanced geospatial functionality that cannot be supported by Web mapping tools. Smart Client achieves this through its unique combination of administrative simplicity, high-end geospatial capabilities of conventional desktop products, and data and user management functionality essential for multi-departmental enterprise implementations or collaborative environments.
The power and flexibility of GeoMedia Smart Client is to enable organizations to implement and sustain simple-to-use and highly efficient enterprise geospatial business workflows.
"GeoMedia Smart Client is a key technology for GISquadrat's business," said Gunter Probst, CEO and founder of GISquadrat. "We have used the platform to implement systems for more than 450 municipalities across Austria, with 2,500 intranet users accessing local government applications via hosted services."
GeoMedia Smart Client supports users affiliated with national, regional and municipal governments involved in infrastructure management, land management, and municipal planning and management. This new addition to the GeoMedia family will further extend Intergraph's geospatial platform for industries across the board.
In response to the universal launch, John K. Graham, president, Intergraph Security, Government & Infrastructure stated, "We are pleased to offer GeoMedia Smart Client's availability to users around the globe. With the success of GeoMedia Smart Client in Europe under the Respublica name, we have no doubt a global launch will enhance existing Intergraph systems and introduce users to new possibilities within their geospatial platform. GeoMedia Smart Client is truly a smarter way to enable our world."
GeoMedia Smart Client will be available in October, 2011.
