Wiha Tools has Introduced New Insulated Plier and Screwdriver Sets
Wiha's line of Insulated pliers are safety tested. Insulation is certified according to VDE 0682/part 201, DIN EN 60900, IEC 900, ASTM F-1505-94. Safety tests include:
o Insulation visually inspected for appearance and integrity
o Insulation tested for puncture penetration & low temperature impact resistance.
o Each plier is tested for handle adhesion and to make sure the handle is secured firmly on the pliers when kept in a temperature of +70° C.
o The insulating materials also flame retardant in order to prevent risk from fire or spark over.
Wiha's VDE Pliers are drop-forged from special tool steel, cutters additionally induction hardened (approx. 60HRC), chrome-nickel plated, mirror-polished. The handles are high visibility red and yellow. The ergonomic comfort grip also includes a slip guard. Handles are permanently fixed with special adhesive. The various Wiha pliers available include the bent nose, long nose, round nose, side cutters, cable cutters and wire strippers.
The Wiha redesigned Insulated safety screwdriver tools now come with high visibility ergonomic cushion grip handles for maximum comfort. The insulation of the handle is molded directly onto the blade for permanent bonding. SoftFinish cushion grip handle allows up to 40% more torque than conventional handles. Available in Slotted, Phillips, Torx & Nut Drivers. Wiha's SoftFinish Insulated screwdrivers are certified to ASTM F1505-94, IEC 900 and VDE test specifications.
Each Wiha Insulated tool is tested and certified to 1000 volts AC/1500 volts DC and meet OSHA requirements for use in applications where safety insulated tools are called for.
