Antepo Adds XCAP Capabilities to Provide Presence and IM Contact List Management to SIP/SIMPLE Users from Any Location

NEW YORK, Jan. 17 - Antepo, Inc. (http://www.antepo.com/), a pioneer of secure, interoperable Enterprise Instant Messaging (EIM), today announced the upcoming availability of built-in XCAP Server interface to OPN System, the company's flagship EIM and Presence software platform. The XCAP Server module will allow carriers and other organizations using SIP/SIMPLE- based EIM networks to access or modify buddy list information, privacy lists, and other Presence relationships from any device, both internally and remotely, via an XCAP-compliant SIMPLE client.

An Internet-Draft of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), the XML Configuration Access Protocol, or XCAP, is an HTTP-based protocol that allows clients to simultaneously read, write, and modify XML documents stored on a server. Typically, with SIP-based EIM networks, users can only store and manage their buddy and privacy lists from a specific IM client, on a specific workstation, at one time. The OPN System XCAP server stores these lists as XML documents and makes the contact and privacy information accessible from any location. This allows users to access and share lists from different machines -- whether inside the office or from a remote workstation -- through any XCAP- compliant client interface.

"Antepo has long been committed to supporting open, industry standard protocols such as SIP, which has been embraced by many carriers and enterprises because it offers a powerful communications framework. This commitment has guided our development of a Presence and EIM platform that allows our customers to adapt to changing business needs and an ever-evolving IT landscape," said Maxime Seguineau, CEO and Chairman of Antepo. "The addition of XCAP capabilities, which are both firewall- and mobile device- friendly, is another example of this, adding critical roaming functionality and extensibility to IM on any SIP/SIMPLE based network."
